Five Custom Tables.
One Extraordinary Estate.
Milton · Alpharetta · Canton, Georgia
A Whole-Home Commission Shaped Around the Way One Family Gathers
From formal dining and everyday meals to play, poolside evenings and a gentleman’s barn lounge, five custom tables gave each room a distinct purpose while carrying one considered design story throughout the estate.
Working alongside Wyeth Ray, we created five custom tables with distinct personalities and one shared sense of permanence.
This estate in the Milton–Alpharetta–Canton area called for furniture that could hold its own in architecturally rich rooms without competing with the layered interiors. Scale, material and finish changed from room to room, but every table was designed to feel intentional within the larger home.
White oak with custom color and cerusing brought quiet texture to the formal dining room and kitchen. Washed red oak gave the playroom game table a relaxed presence. In the barn lounge, cross-cut burl walnut became functional sculpture, while a ten-foot Monkey Pod table carried the craftsmanship outdoors.
The Intermezzo Tri in Cerused White Oak
The formal dining table is our Intermezzo Tri, built in white oak with a custom color and cerused finish. Its seamless architectural legs and substantial top create a modern counterpoint to the room’s paneled walls, layered textiles and trio of crystal globe pendants.
The Intermezzo Tri’s quiet geometry gives the formal room a clear center without competing with the sculptural lighting. Its warm cerused surface bridges the cool upholstery, dark ceiling beams and softly finished wall paneling.
The Hailey Trestle for Everyday Gathering
The kitchen called for a different silhouette. The Hailey Trestle pairs the same custom cerused white oak finish with visible timber joinery, a strong center stretcher and a substantial top designed for everyday meals and conversation.
The Hailey’s visible joinery feels at home beneath the mirrored fixture and beside the tall windows. Its sculptural base holds its own in the room, while the shared cerused finish creates continuity with the formal dining space without making the two tables feel identical.
Burl Walnut, Cross-Cut and Unrepeatable
The barn lounge called for something singular. A cross-cut burl walnut slab—alive with swirling grain, natural openings and a rugged live edge—became a low coffee table with a restrained architectural walnut base.

The two workshop photographs document the original commission. The three styled images visualize how the catalog design can be personalized for a finished lounge or living room.
Ten Feet of Outdoor Monkey Pod
The covered open-air pool terrace needed a table equal to the scale of the architecture. A ten-foot Monkey Pod live edge top brings warm movement to the stone patio, while outdoor-qualified construction materials and finishes prepare the piece for its sheltered exterior setting.
The patio’s soaring timber structure, full-height openings and broad stone floor can visually absorb a very large table. The Monkey Pod top adds organic color and motion, while the simple slab legs echo the architectural posts without making the gathering area feel crowded.
From Raw Hardwood to Five Finished Tables
Every finished room began with raw lumber, exact joinery and patient finish work in our Georgia workshop. This production story follows white oak, Monkey Pod and a singular cross-cut burl walnut slab as they became the custom pieces designed for this Milton–Alpharetta–Canton estate.

A completed white oak table receives its final workshop inspection before delivery to the Canton estate.

White oak base components are milled and dry-fitted before assembly.

The cerused finish settles into the white oak grain, creating depth without hiding the wood.

Outdoor-rated finish protects the Monkey Pod top while preserving its color and live edge.
