LEAF EXTENSIONS
One popular method for expanding a custom table is the leaf extension system. This design features a fixed tabletop with removable leaves that are added to each end when extra seating is needed. The leaves are stored separately in a safe place and brought out only when hosting larger groups. Each leaf includes short support arms that slide securely into the end of the table and are fastened using hand-tightening toggles for a stable connection. When the leaves are not in use, the table maintains a clean, seamless appearance—offering subtle versatility without compromising its everyday aesthetic.
DROP LEAF SYSTEM
The drop leaf system is a refined solution for expanding round tables, especially when accommodating extra guests is key. The table opens at the center using durable hard maple mechanical slides, offering smooth, stable movement and long-lasting reliability. Once opened, one or more drop-in leaf inserts are added, transforming the table from a round to an oval shape and increasing seating capacity. Locking hardware ensures the table stays securely in place during use. This system works best with pedestal and double pedestal bases, which can easily separate to create space for the leaves. It is not compatible with trestle-style bases, as they do not allow for center table separation. When the inserts are removed, the table closes back into its original compact form—ideal for everyday use with the flexibility to expand when needed.
